Bolivian President-elect Evo Morales said Dec. 29 2005, he will not allow coca production for drugs. In a speech to 20,000 coca farmers at a celebration in the village of Eterazama, 400 miles southeast of La Paz, Morales said legal coca growing was winning the "green war" against the U.S. dollar, but that there would be "zero" cocaine cultivation permitted in his administration. The victory celebration was financed by growers and authorities within Morales' Movement to Socialism party. Morales is scheduled to travel to Cuba, Europe, China and South Africa in January to meet with other leaders.
